The Rise of Skywalker

They boys have been so patient. Been a crazy week…. Today was the earliest we could take them to see the latest Star Wars movie. The Rise of Skywalker was kind of a mess, but it was hard story to pull off once Carrie Fisher died. π
Farewell, Skywalkers
I was driving the kids to school today and glanced at Timmy to discover tears streaming down his cheeks. I asked him why he was upset, and he said, “Because we have to say goodbye to the Skywalkers this week.” My sweet, sensitive, nerdy boy who reacts to certain things with ten times the emotion of others.
Speechless
Timmy: Momma, it pains me to tell you this, but I went into Ashley’s bedroom, and she was playing with her dolls instead of doing her silent reading time.
Me: Okay, but why were you in her bedroom? Why weren’t you at your desk doing YOUR silent reading time?
Timmy:
Timmy’s Sister
I think it’s safe to say that Ashley dominates Timmy’s thoughts even when he’s doing homework, like his sentences for his vocabulary words.

Ariana Ponytail
Ashley: I donβt want any ponytail. I want an Ariana ponytail.

Mount Wilson Observatory
Drove up to Mount Wilson Observatory. It was a trip to look down at clouds but not be in a plane.

Come From Away
Spent a wonderful afternoon spent at the Ahmanson Theatre at a matinee of Come From Away.

La Brea Tar Pits Cookies

THIS. THIS is a prime example of how whenever I try to do anything domestic, it ends in disaster. I found a recipe for “the world’s best chocolate chip cookies” and decided to give it s how. When the cooking timer went off, I walked to the kitchen with a big smile and opened the oven door to discover the La Brea Tar Pits on my cookie sheet. And yes, I baked them on a pizza thingamajig instead of a cookie sheet. Another kitchen catastrophe.
Christmas Gift Keeps Giving
Ashley loved this Christmas gift, Her brothers? Not so much.
